Cyber Security Specialist

Copia is growing extremely fast and is seeking an outstanding Cyber Security Specialist. Reporting to the VP of Technology, the Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for innovation, implementation and support of systems that provide the tools for automating and securing the organization’s data and technology assets. Specifically, you will;

  • Perform vulnerability assessment and penetration testing on organizations infrastructure and applications in a bid to ensure that they are secure from external or internal hacking attempts.
  • Research on and provide technical security expertise on continuous persistent threats affecting the e-commerce industry to the Senior Manager, IT Security.
  • Develop IT Security Policies, Minimum Baseline Security Standards in line with industry best practices and technologies, commensurate with risk and regulatory requirements and implementing the same cost effectively.
  • Provide technical security related support to projects from inception through to successful implementation to ensure that security is in built into the applications.
  • Recognize and provide solutions for IT Security related problems by identifying abnormalities and reporting violations.
  • Appropriately and practically defend the information enterprise in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
  • Monitor internal and external threats, examine logs, events and alerts generated by multiple platforms for anomalous activity, evidence of security incidents and other error conditions that may constitute a breach in security or degradation of integrity or confidentiality of the organizations Information Technology systems and information assets.
  • Continuously update the IT security monitoring and assessment as required in view of the latest hacking techniques & also stay current on malware trends especially in the e-commerce industry and also adjust the assessment accordingly to reflect the latest trends.
  • Support the implementation of procedural, operational and technical Security Architecture enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance to security standards, PCI/DSS, FIBS.
  • Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks
  • Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans
  • Install, configure and upgrade security software (e.g. antivirus programs)
  • Secure networks through firewalls, password protection and other systems
  • Inspect hardware for vulnerable points of access
  • Monitor network activity to identify issues early and communicate them to IT teams
  • Act on privacy breaches and malware threats
  • Serve as a security expert and conduct training when needed

About You:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in ICT or Related Field from a recognized university.
  • You possess at least one security certification such as CISSP, CISM or COMPTIA+. MCSE and/or MCSD certification will be an added advantage.
  • Strong IT skills including knowledge on hardware, software, networks, and data centers
  • You are experienced in professional cybersecurity environment
  • You have skills of perception and QA, ability to identify vulnerabilities and overall issues
  • You are familiar with security frameworks (e.g. NIST Cybersecurity framework) and risk management methodologies
  • You are experienced in Project Implementation and User Training is desired.
  • You have knowledge on web programming languages (ASP, .NET, JavaScript, etc) will be an added advantage.
  • You have knowledge on web application security.
  • You are familiarity with public key infrastructure (PKI) and cryptography protocols (e.g. SSL/ TLS)
  • You can think like a hacker and anticipate hacker moves
  • You have the desire to self-educate on the ever-changing landscape of cyber hacking tactics
  • You have forensic approach to challenges
  • You are a critical thinker and have a problem-solving attitude
  • You have excellent problem analysis and attention to detail.
  • You have good knowledge on various e-commerce operations.
